To Be a Dedicated Employee….

My morning started really no different from any other morning… I was sitting downstairs in the family room drinking a cup of coffee, just enjoying the peace and quiet before the start of the day… Kids were off school so everyone else was sleeping in a bit.. I heard the tone of a text on my phone and it was my cousin asking if we were going to attend the big festival in an Adjacent town this weekend.. I replied not sure, then asked how things were at work.. The last time we spoke she had mentioned that things at her job were hectic and that they were trying to eliminate her because of her seniority and pay.. You see she has been with Target for 25 Years and is at the top of the Pay Scale.. Texting suddenly became not an option as there was just so much going through my mind… so I called… Questions started flowing like “How can they do this?”  She proceeded to tell me they do it all the time and always had, she just never thought of it happening to her… They are in-fact doing it to My Friend also and she has 19 years at Target.. My Cousin told me… I sat there and was in shock… Thinking it must be the economy not that it excuses this type of treatment to employees that have dedicated their lives to this company for several decades…

I got off the call and found myself Googling Target and unfair Termination and my goodness was I shocked… there are stories dating back 10 years of how Target has been doing this and that it certainly appears that my cousin was correct.. For Target this is just how they roll… It is not an economic need because of the economy…

A few years back my cousins Husband was laid off at Hershey Corp. because they closed the Local Hershey plant and opened up in Mexico.. Cheaper for them to run rather than in California.. Now once again that was a business decision and I get that business’ have to make tough decisions to prosper but at whose expense… Here I have in my immediate family a household that not just for one of the heads of household but both of them have had their careers eliminated do to corporate greed… I know that sounds harsh but the truth hurts… No thought gets put into what they are doing to these families… These employees are just eliminated like there is no wrong doing.. Now I am not preaching so all of you reading this will not shop at Target or eat a Hershey’s candy bar.. But why I decided to sit and tell their story is this is the exact reason why I preach to develop the ENTREPRENEUR mindset as it will so change your life… It will free you of the grip that employer America has on you.. You stay in control of what you earn, when you work and what your success’ will be.. You can’t get fired or eliminated as you are your own boss…

Now will my cousins be OK.. yes..I know they will and they will do well.. They work hard and will move on and for her, probably to bigger and better things.. For him he replaced his position with the same type of work at another Chocolate plant and is doing well also.. But who is to say it wont happen again.. Job market in America is not stable as corporations are picking up and moving ship everyday.. then what for those employees…

So when you find yourself at a cross roads or at a place of taking an opportunity.. really thinks about getting out of your comfort zone… Put yourself on the path of security that you can control..

Become an ENTREPRENEUR… It will be the best decision you have ever made…

Reflecting about what Stuck over the past year…

I am a soon to be 47-year-old women who has done a lot when it comes to career objectives over the years.. I have worked for major corporations, franchisees and been self-employed… For me the self-employed was always a better fit as my income produced was what I put into it.. so being stuck to a set wage never stuck with me very well…

The economy had me working head down doing what needed to be done to make ends meet and keep enough money coming in to support this family.. As a Real Estate Broker what I loved about Real Estate was long gone and instead of helping people get into homes I found my self working for the Banks taking them away.. Not the dream that I set out to build… I found myself very unhappy but doing what I needed to do to bring in the money to keep a roof over my families head… My husband has been a contractor for years and always a good provider in helping but this economy has been brutal to contractors also… So I got up every day and did what I had to do to make life as I thought it had to happen…

What finally changed for me was the fact that I made a decision to do something different… although I don’t even realize at the time how different things would become… The only thing different I decided to do was take a 90 Day Challenge and from that one decision things just kept happening that added to the belief that my mind needed to make me take that next step… I wanted a weight loss, and because I started the Challenge I started losing weight.. Then 23 Days later just because I was excited about the weight loss and I was talking about what I was excited about I earned a free car in 23 days… And believe it or not I still was not vested in the business but I was SOLD on the Product and the Challenge…

Days were running by just as before.. but because I felt good, the days went by at a happy level then they had in a very long time… Team members are coming on my team and before I knew it several other team members had earned a BMW allowance..  There promotions promoted me to National… I remember thinking…HMMM there might just be something to this business thing… Visalus was having a Regional Event and I made a decision to go… Blake Mallen, Co-founder of Visalus,  was the Keynote speaker… he spoke on a topic titled Life Of Script… The message was simple… Most of us live a very scripted life… We get up every day and do exactly the same thing over and over and most of us are dreaming of a different result… I remember sitting there thinking how so true that is… He also reminded us how we are doing the same things our parents did.. We had to, its in the Script, Correct… but does that script still work for us today… 

Now of course the start of that will never change.. or shouldn’t for anyone… but the ending of that script.. Is that how Life is ending up today.. or will our lives end up that way… For me that answer was a Big Fat no.. which was a great big, in your face clue to me to change… I realized that Visalus was that Change I was looking for…

So for me the two things that I am constantly using as a reference and continue to go back to is those two messages both that came to me at a Visalus event.. That no matter what Path I chose to take, doing the same things will not take me to a different path and that the Script that our Parents lived is not the Script that fits today… Be open to different opportunities, which ever those that come your way, because you never know how different your life could become…

I am so close to Ambassador.. this is Crazy

Mid January of 2011 I started with Visalus and was new to network Marketing all together.. I was a complete skeptic in the business but I wanted to try the product so it just made sense to buy the promoters package as you got more product… I was pretty clear to Jen as she was bringing me into Visalus that I had no faith that I could take this to a Position such as Ambassador… As you can see it is at the top of the comp plan… Well here I am 15 months later and so close.. If I don’t hit is this month I am sure to get there next month… 

This has truly been the easiest thing I have ever done and I have done it still working a full time job, being a busy mom of two very active teens and a wife… I am a Real Estate Broker that considered myself blessed as I was able to land accounts with Fannie Mae, B of A and several other smaller banks.. What Visalus so made me realize is that I was sacrificing happiness to make money… and that is something I will never do again…

I have a amazing team and I look at each and everyone of them and think of them as family.. I would so not be where I am getting to, if it were not for my amazing team <3

Social Media and our Daily Lives…

Over this past week in my home town we had a huge tragedy and as I sat there frozen watching it play out on all the local news channels the one thing that was so clear is that the news professionals today have the same media as to how they get the most current information as you and I do, and that is the use of Social Media.. Now I know that I use it every day and have for a few years now, but I was one of the pioneers I guess you could say… Always the first to jump in and see what it was all about… In fact I remember getting on Facebook because Michael Phelps was updating his Facebook during his 2008  Gold Medal run and that is what made me sit down and see what this Facebook thing was all about… So that means about 4 years on Facebook… My twitter birth was the Tweets between Demi and Ashton, I don’t remember when that was… so you can clearly see there was nothing truly important as to why I dove into Social Media but it sure has made an impact on how my every day works now… But watching last Thursday unfold it was odd for me to see that the news we rely on has no real advantage over us today that are on Social Media…

That said, I then started thinking about the Success of Visalus and how I have been able to grow a business over this past year and really… It has been the use of this Social Media that has just become part of what we do… So then I as myself… Why would someone not want to do what they do anyway and get paid for it… With Visalus, We promote a challenge via Social Media that offers packages to people to attain Better Health and Prosperity… which in turn could make a life so much better… First hand it has for me…

Ok.. I thought this was worth sharing... It is crazy to me how some people regard Facebook as so important it ranks in priority over their relationships.. let's keep it real and tangible people... I would deactivate my Facebook in a split second if I ever thought it could come between my relationship withy husband or kids... Craziness!

Woke up this morning…

I woke up this morning feeling so full of energy and ready to take on the world full steam ahead and I thought… “Why am I so wide awake and raring to go… I just went to bed 6 hours ago… “. Well when your excited about something… When you know what you are excited about is changing lives for those of the people who allow it… It becomes contagious… This past year doing network marketing has been a completely new experience… There has certainly been up times and down times but I have to say the down tomes as long as you continue to persevere are temporary… For my first company and my first attempt I am running for the top ranks of the company and I am so proud of those people who are running with me… Ninon, you so keep me sane, I so could not have gotten as fracas I have without you because everyone needs that confidant and that has so been you… Marlo, you are such an inspiration and so much proof that you are the captain of your own ship and no one can ever get in your way… Amy, always a fighter, don’t get in this girls way as she will run right over you… Carmen, this year has dealt you some obstacles but I know you are in it to win it, I have no doubt that you are in this to win this and girl together we can make anything happen… Little Katherine, I am sure you feel things have been slow out if the gate but you have already learned so much, not just about this business but about how everything you do dictates the quality of life you are building and as long as you strive for the better you will get there… Our new little Lindsey, you came into our team and seriously lit a flame under each and every one of us, your tenacity and passion to help others is so uplifting… Nurse Shannon, I have known you the longest, a friend I have always admired, I love to tell the story of how I was like “why do you want to do this business because to me you are everything I would ever want to be”, and I am so blessed to have you running side by side as we change lives, you just brought aboard Patrick and in a very short time it is clear that he and his family are very special, only great things to come for all of us…AnnMarie, you and Jerry are amazing.. I love your family strength, having Jerry in Afghanistan and the way you keep it all together for your kids and yourself is so inspiring, so blessed to be a part of this journey with the two of you… And last but certainly not least Anthony, having you see the light and already bring such amazing people into this team over the past 7 days has certainly renewed my energy levels, God answered a prayer when you said you were ready to run… So blessed to have you as a running partner…

Then there are the Vi Family whom are not my team whom have come into my life because of this awesome Company… Jen, you and Josh will be lifetime friends, I love our talks.. they mean so much.. thank you for always being there and understanding, you seem to have a way of bringing out the emotional side of me, therapy for my soul… Shannon you have become a sister from another mother, lol ~ it’s like we are related.. love you sister <3  Keith,
I have known your mom for more than 10 years but had never met you… it’s a small world and I am blessed to have finally met you and know there is a lifetime of memories in the making… all of these people and many more have impacted my life and that is all do to this new business for me over the past year and that in itself a huge blessing and a gift…

I have so many wonderful people on my team… I can not begin to mention them all.. I just want you all to know that I am blessed by all of you… Everyone has their own pace and that is what I love about this business… it’s ok… Just always remember, you can not fail unless you quit… just don’t quit <3

And of course none of this would even be happening if it wasn’t for that fateful lunch Jen and Lisa… The memory of that few hours will always have a permanent place in my library index… That particular day changed my life and for that I will forever be greatful…here is to great things that have already happened…and even greater things to come…

And just a reminder that there will always be Nay sayers or Dream Killers… Those are the people who look at what you are doing and simply try to kill your dream and really it is because of their own fear of failure and lack of confidence that keeps them from being the supportive type… Walk away from those types of people… surround your self with positive people who want to make a difference…

For every Dream we strive to achieve, There will always be those who just don’t believe… Just let them go to find their own desires…Don’t let them put out your fire… For Dream Killers come and Dream Killers go…But your Dream as long as You Believe will always continue to grow….
